Main Research Objectives: |
The project foresees the study of models, methodologies, methods, techniques, and algorithms finalized to make more efficient and cost effective the logistic processes within a harbor container terminal. R&D issues of this project fall into the most advanced fields of logistics, optimization, simulation, computer science, and telecommunications. ARTS people are mainly interested to data content distribution across integrated wireless systems to operators/actors of the logistic chain. Such data are assumed to derive from exploited positioning systems and identification systems. Efforts are required to make data available to users and operators ubiquitously and in a differentiated fashion. Also the definitions of novel models of multi-interface terminals is a topic of interest for the project. |
